Organic guar gum is a natural alternative to starch for thickening food. The natural product is 8 times more effective than conventional corn starch binders and gives a soft, smooth and homogeneous texture.

The guar bean originates from northwest India and western Pakistan. The flour extracted from the bean is almost odourless and tasteless and is the ideal binder for cold and hot dishes. It is particularly suitable for making ice cream, effectively prevents the formation of ice crystals and ensures a creamy consistency of the ice cream mass.

In sauces and dressings, guar ensures that solid ingredients do not separate from liquid ingredients and that a pleasant homogeneity is achieved.

Shelf life and storage

When stored under dry, cool conditions, the product can be kept for at least 2 years after the production date.

Our products are always packaged in pre-packaged containers that are marked with a batch number and a best-before date (imprint or additional label). Until the best-before date, the manufacturer guarantees the unchanged properties of the product in terms of appearance, taste and behaviour during processing. This is not an expiry date, as is the case with fresh produce, for example.

Starch can be replaced with guar gum in recipes. One-eighth of the amount of starch normally used is sufficient for guar gum with a viscosity of 3500 cps.
