Lavender - whole flowers dried
Who does not know the lavish purple fields of lavender that stretch like a purple carpet through the landscape in Provence? But lavender not only looks pretty, it's also a popular herb with many properties. The dried flowers were already used in ancient Rome as a bath additive or for washing laundry because of their extraordinary, calming, yet intense scent. The blue-violet flowers of the lavender bush are not only an intensely fragrant feast for the eyes, but are also attractive in taste and can be used as a raw material for tea or as a natural flavor additive. Today you can usually find lavandin, a hybrid of real lavender and tall spear lavender, in the vast fields. However, it is not suitable for consumption because it has a slightly soapy taste. The Speiklavender is mainly used for the production of dried flowers and decorative items and is often colored purple with color pigments. The real lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) originally comes from the Mediterranean region. It only grows in warm regions and especially on dry, rocky slopes. Most of the time, real lavender can be found in the higher regions that are pampered by the sun. Lavender prefers a mild climate, but today's varieties also feel good in our latitudes. You can often find lavender as a companion to roses in the home garden, as the fragrances keep pests away. Lavender is a popular herb for preparing tea or fine meals, but because of the essential oils it is also used for the production of high-quality cosmetics or in the pharmaceutical industry, for example as an additive in care products such as creams, soaps, shampoos or in the production of perfumes. Only real lavender can be used for these applications. The Golden Naturals® lavender flowers are untreated, real lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) in food quality, which still contains all essential oils and has an intense scent. The product is suitable for consumption and does not contain any colorings, preservatives or additives. Also, Golden Naturals® lavender flowers are not treated with hairspray or spray varnish to preserve their purple color. We completely refrain from coloring the flowers, which naturally fade more and more over the course of the weeks after they have dried. The lavender flowers are harvested from June to September as soon as flowering begins. If the lavender is to be used for the production of oil or as a raw material for tea, it is only harvested when the plant is in full bloom. Depending on the growing area and the size of the farm, it is harvested by hand or with special harvesting machines. The woody part of the stalk at the top of the branch and the remains of the herb are harvested as well, as it contains a large part of the valuable essential oils that are required in the production of lavender oil or for making tea. Then the lavender branches are gently dried at 30 - 45 ° C. In doing so, they slowly lose their purple color until they are almost completely gray-brown about 6 months after harvest. The fragrance and the good ingredients, however, are retained for at least 2 years after production. After drying, the dry parts of the plant around the flowers gradually disintegrate and, if the product has already been filled, settle on the bottom of the container. However, they are not waste, but contribute a considerable part to the fact that the lavender flowers smell wonderful. For example, they can be used to make tea. However, they should stay in the colander as they are hard and straw-like. Application tip from our cooking team: Golden Naturals® lavender flowers are versatile. They are suitable as a delicious decoration on cakes, pastries or ice cream and, like other spices, can be used in food preparations. However, they should always be moistened well before consumption, otherwise they are very hard. In tea, soups, sauces and dough, lavender softens by itself when it is enriched with liquid.

Guarana Powder
The Guarana plant belongs to the liana family and is native to Brazil in the Amazon region. The evergreen plant grows up to 10 m high. The small red fruits have bitter-tasting seeds inside, from which the caffeine-containing Guarana powder is extracted. The seeds, also known as nuts, are also rich in fat, protein and starch, which is why they have been used for thousands of years by the indigenous peoples for the production of medicine and body care products. Guarana powder is brownish and its taste reminds of coffee. The difference to the caffeine contained in the coffee bean lies in the tannins to which the caffeine of guarana is bound. The tannins must be completely degraded before the caffeine can be released. The effect of caffeine can last up to 6 hours.

NUR BIO® Guarana powder
The versatile talents of organic guarana have been known and appreciated by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon region for thousands of years. Today, guarana powder is used worldwide to enrich food and drinks to boost energy or as a coffee substitute. The ground seeds of the evergreen guarana plant are very similar in flavour to coffee, but have significantly more natural caffeine. The seeds, often referred to as nuts, contain fat, protein and starch. The special ingredient that makes the significant difference to coffee is the high content of tannins, to which the naturally contained caffeine is bound, so that it is released very slowly and remains available for a long time. For this reason, guarana is said to be better tolerated than coffee beans. The brownish powder with the typical bitter flavour of coffee is an excellent ingredient in invigorating drinks, but also goes well in many baking recipes such as waffles or pastries. And if you don't like the taste of coffee, you can simply refine a delicious guarana milk or yoghurt dish with guarana with tasty coconut blossom sugar or yacon syrup. This way, the bitter flavour fades into the background for a naturally mild sweetness.

Another special aspect of this oil is that the ORAC capacity (free radicals) for ordinary vegetable oils is about 1 umol /TE per ml, while Chia oil scores with an ORAC value of 9.6 umol/TE per ml.Chia not only contains valuable omega-3, but also has an optimal ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 according to scientific studies.Fats and oils are used throughout the world for both food and industrial purposes. Food applications account for the largest share (about three quarters) of global consumption, and the trend is increasing.Today, influenced by the trend towards health-conscious diets, consumers are confused about the health value of saturated fatty acids, chemical contaminants in processed cooking oils and long ingredient lists. It is virgin cold-pressed from high-quality organic chia seeds from the best cultivation areas in South America. Chia oil still contains a few turbid substances despite filtration. This is not a quality defect, but a special quality feature. In addition to the more well-known oil specialities such as olive oil, peanut oil, linseed oil or hemp oil, chia oil is a tasty and varied alternative. The light yellow to golden yellow oil is almost odourless and has a pleasant, slightly nutty taste. Organic Maca Powder
The Maca plant was already an important part of the Incas' diet to recharge their batteries. It has been cultivated for centuries in the plateau (Lepedium peruvianum Chacon) of the Peruvian Andes. Golden Peanut Bio Maca Powder comes exclusively from the highest growing areas (Junin Plateau at about 4200 meters above sea level), where the most resistant plants grow. Today, Maca is an insider tip for nutritionists and athletes. Information about the origin: Raw material prices can fluctuate strongly depending on the product. A few years ago, the price of Maca powder skyrocketed to such an extent that Maca was hardly available on the European market. This was due to the fact that the Chinese bought almost all of the Peruvian crop yields in order to cultivate the product in China. Since the beginning of 2015, prices have fallen again and the new harvest is available on the world market Meanwhile, China also sells Maca powder grown there to Europe. Chinaware is very different from the Peruvian Maca root. There are significantly fewer vital substances contained, the smell and taste are completely different. Since Chinese maca has a rather unpleasant taste, the product is often stretched with dextrose. When buying Maca powder, make sure that the origin is stated. Only Maca powder from the Peruvian Andes has the much appreciated good qualities and is often called "power root" by connoisseurs.
