Psyllium seeds are the ripe whole seeds of the psyllium herb. The small seeds have a strong resemblance to linseed, but have more fibre and mucilage. When in contact with liquid, the seeds absorb many times their own weight in liquid. Golden Ingredients psyllium seeds are supplied in the best food quality and are suitable for human and animal consumption.

Indian psyllium seeds - also called yellow or blond psyllium - come from the annual plant called Plantago ovata and are obtained by wind sifting and gently dried. Our whole psyllium seeds are 100% natural and free from additives. The supply chain is strictly monitored from the farmer to the arrival at our warehouse near Hamburg and carefully bottled in our family business.

Shelf life and storage

When stored under dry, cool conditions, the product has a shelf life of at least 3 years after the production date.

Our products are always packaged in pre-packaged containers that are marked with a batch number and a best before date. Until the date of the best-before date, the manufacturer guarantees unchanged properties of the product in terms of appearance, taste and behaviour during processing. It is an expiry date such as for fresh produce.
