Product information "NurBio® Maca Powder "
The maca plant has been cultivated for centuries in the highlands (Lepedium peruvianum Chacon) of the Peruvian Andes. It grows effortlessly despite storms and weather in the most barren landscape, where no other plant has a chance of survival.
The superfood was already an important part of the diet of the Incas and served as a basic supply of all vital vitamins, minerals and trace elements. In Peru, maca is still consumed today by the indigenous population as a vegetable. The tuberous maca root has an excellent profile of around 60 different micronutrients, including protein, valuable fatty acids and secondary plant substances.
NurBio® Maca powder comes exclusively from the highest growing areas (Junin Plateau at an altitude of approx. 4200 metres), where the most resistant plants grow. The Peruvian soil apple, also called Inca or Andean tuber, is carefully harvested in certified organic farms, then dried and grated. When processed into powder, maca is not heated above 40 °C and is therefore considered a raw food.
The powder has a sweet taste and is therefore perfect as an ingredient in muesli, smoothies or porridge. Of course, the natural tasty powder is also suitable for preparing desserts of all kinds and as an ingredient in cooking and baking.
Important note: China now also sells Maca powder grown there to Europe. Chinese products are clearly different from the Peruvian Maca root. Inferior maca products do not come from Peru and have a rather unpleasant taste and contain significantly fewer vital substances. The inferior products are often diluted with dextrose to improve the taste. Only maca powder from the Peruvian Andes has the much appreciated good properties and is often called "power root" by connoisseurs. So when buying Maca powder, make sure that the origin is stated. Only original Peruvian Maca is used for NurBio® Maca powder.

Shelf life and storage
When stored under dry, cool conditions, the product can be kept for at least 2 years after the production date.
Our products are always packaged in pre-packaged containers that are marked with a batch number and a best-before date (imprint or additional label). Until the best-before date, the manufacturer guarantees the unchanged properties of the product in terms of appearance, taste and behaviour during processing. This is not an expiry date, as is the case with fresh produce, for example.

Recommended intake
Consume 5–10 g of organic maca powder (equivalent to approx. 1–2 level teaspoons) daily, dissolved in a milkshake, yogurt, or fruit juice. The product is ideal for making smoothies.
