The active Maltina pays close attention to her figure and, like her friends from the SWEETme clique, prefers less sweetness in bread, soups and co. Maltina therefore prefers to use maltitol because it is a delicious sugar substitute and has 40% fewer calories than sugar.
Maltitol is produced from maltose by hydrogenation (addition of hydrogen). Maltose, also known as malt sugar, is a breakdown product of starch, mostly corn starch, but also wheat starch. In contrast to maltitol syrup, maltitol contains no glucose and has no effect on blood sugar levels and is therefore suitable for diabetics!
In 100 g of maltitol there are only a good 240 kcal, which is 40 percent less than in sugar. In terms of sweetening power, consistency and taste, maltitol is very similar to household sugar. Maltitol is therefore a very popular sugar substitute in calorie-reduced foods, in the manufacture of products for diabetics and low carb products. Maltitol (E 965) is also used as a preservative and thickener in brown bread, packet soups, mustard or sauces.

When stored under dry, cool conditions, the product can be kept for at least 2 years after the production date.

Until the best-before date, the manufacturer guarantees the unchanged properties of the product in terms of appearance, taste and behaviour during processing. Recommended intake
Maltina is very conscious about her figure. She uses maltitol in all her recipes because it has only 10% less sweetness than sugar but 40% fewer calories! It is ideal as a sugar substitute for cooking, baking, and refining.
